About SprintVotes

A free planning poker tool for agile teams

What Is This?

SprintVotes is a free scrum voting tool built as a hobby project to help agile teams run their planning poker sessions. The goal was simple: something fast, private, and not buried behind a paywall or a sign-up form.

Most planning poker tools out there are either overloaded with features nobody asked for, or they lock the basics behind a premium plan. This one does not do any of that.

How It Works

Real-time voting — Everyone in a session sees votes appear instantly using Socket.IO for real-time communication.
No database — Voting data is not saved anywhere permanent. When a session ends or times out, everything is gone — like a whiteboard that erases itself.
Session-based — Create or join a room with a code, vote on story points, and reveal the results. Simple as that.
Hosted on Vercel & Railway — The front-end runs on Vercel and the WebSocket server on Railway. Both are currently US-based, with a plan to move to European infrastructure if a paid tier is ever introduced.

Built by One Person

This is a solo side project, not a startup. There is no team behind it, no investors, and no monetization plan. It gets maintained in spare time because it is genuinely useful and fun to build.

If something breaks or feels wrong, feedback is always welcome. And if the tool saves your team some time, that is more than enough.
